Primal was founded by Alessandro Baringbing, an amateur boxer, designer and airbrush artist with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship.
His experience inside the boxing world allowed Alessandro to understand combat sports not only as contests of strength, technique and discipline, but also as stages where identity is expressed.
In Indonesia, he saw that fightwear was often treated as an afterthought. Fighters across boxing, Muay Thai and kickboxing developed their own styles, stories and presence, but what they wore did not always reflect who they were.
He believed combat sports could become more than physical competition. They could also become a meeting of character, culture and style — where the walkout, the corner, the attire and the equipment all contribute to the fighter's story.
That belief became the foundation of Primal.
Born in Bandung.
Primal took shape in Bandung, Indonesia — a city with a long relationship with art, fashion, independent production and hands-on craftsmanship.
Here, Alessandro found talented makers who could help turn ideas into physical pieces: designers, tailors, painters, embroiderers, fabric specialists and craftspeople whose knowledge could not be replaced by mass production.
Primal brings these disciplines together to create fightwear and fight gear with a human hand behind every detail. From the first sketch to the final stitch, painted layer, patch or stone, each piece carries the work of people who care about how it is made.
We do not create clothing simply to decorate a fighter.
We create pieces that help fighters carry their identity into the ring.
More than what we make.
Primal was never meant to exist only for those who can afford custom fightwear.
Part of its purpose is to give back to the combat-sports community that shaped it — beginning with the boxing community in Bandung.
Primal supports young fighters who possess the discipline and ambition to compete but do not always have access to adequate training equipment.
Through equipment support and future community initiatives, we want our craft to contribute to something larger: helping the next generation of Indonesian fighters train with dignity, pursue their opportunities, and take another step towards competing on greater stages.
Because the future of Indonesian combat sports will not be built by clothing alone.
It will be built by the fighters who are given the chance to keep going.
